In reply to your letter of the 18th instant requesting to be informed on what terms the light house Superintendent for the new light houses at Hong Kong was engaged. I have to inform you, in accordance with the request contained in Sir A. Kennedy's despatch R. 10 of the 19th January 1874, and the authority of your letter of the 4th March 1874, the Crown Agents put themselves in communication with the Trinity Board.
and on their recommendation entered into an agreement with Mr. G. W. Hedges Esq.
